Dualcomm's patent pending 5-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Switch/TAP (DCGS-2005L) can be used as both an Ethernet switch and a network TAP. It offers several unique features that differentiate it from other vendor's Gigabit desktop switches on the market.[Power-over-Ethernet Inline Power P-Through]DCGS-2005L implements a set of ports for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) inline power p-through, which provides a low cost solution to "expand" a PoE uplink port into four downstream ports, one of which is capable of receiving the inline power from the uplink cable to power a connected PD (e.g., an PoE enabled IP phone).The PoE Inline power p-through makes it possible to reuse a 10/100 IP phone in a "Gigabit to Desktop" connection.
